In 1985 Russian boxer Ivan Drago murdered Apollo Creed, former U.S. Champion, in a tragic match that stunned the world. Against the wishes of Rocky Balboa, Apollo's son Adonis Johnson takes on a Drago's son challenge — another dangerous fighter. Under Rocky's guidance Adonis trains for the showdown of his life - a date with destiny that soon turns into his obsession.
